HAMBURG — Germany’s annual Reeperbahn Festival will cover Hamburg’s red light district with more than 900 events between Sept. 18-21, spanning a range of music genres and featuring some of the industry’s biggest players.

“Since its debut in 2006, the Reeperbahn Festival has grown to become one of the most important meeting places for the music industry, and, as Europe’s largest club festival, it boasts a broad spectrum of emerging and more established artists,” said festival managing director Detlef Schwarte to Billboard.

In addition to some 600 concerts by international artists, this year’s Reeperbahn will also feature appearances by the Richard Gottehrer, co-founder of The Orchard; Ollie Hodge, director of A&R at Polydor; Patrick Mushatsi-Kareba, CEO of Sony Music GSA; rock producer Bob Rock; Klaus-Peter Schulenberg, CEO of CTS Eventim; UK producer Kelly Snook; and Sarah Williams, CEO of Impel, among others.

The festival program includes events in the fields of fine art, film, literature, and education.

Talks, panels, keynotes, presentations, and workshops are all part of the Reeperbahn Festival Conference sessions program. At this year’s conference, international speakers will address issues relevant to the music industry, its core sectors — recorded music, live entertainment, and publishing — and related elements of the digital economy.

“The sessions program is curated by an independent committee of industry experts, so the Reeperbahn Festival Conference is one of the most important industry platforms in Europe and provides attendees with an opportunity to meet and network with international representatives from the music industry and the digital creative economy,” said Schwarte.

This year’s partner-country for the festival is Australis. The festival has 240 conference programs and attracts roughly 4,700 professionals from 56 countries and 390 speakers from 25 countries.
