Tommy Boy Entertainment President Rosie Lopez Named A2IM Executive Committee Chair

Tommy Boy Entertainment president Rosie Lopez has been named chairperson of the American Association of Independent Music’s (A2IM) executive committee for the coming year, the organization has announced. Additionally, Concord Music COO Glen Barros will serve as treasurer while Sub Pop Records president Tony Kiewel was named secretary.

“Year after year, A2IM has been expertly guided by the most experienced senior label executives who serve on its board and executive committee. This year is no exception,” said A2IM CEO Richard James Burgess in a statement. “We appreciate these entrepreneurs and leaders who give so generously of their time to strengthen A2IM’s mission to promote growth, awareness, and opportunities for independent music through advocacy, education and community.”

The executive committee is elected by the A2IM board of directors, which also consists of Merge Records co-founder Laura Ballance, Kill Rock Stars president Portia Sabin, Robbins Entertainment vp Lisa Levy, Partisan Records managing director Zena White, Mom + Pop Music co-president Thaddeus Rudd, Beggars Group founder and chairman Martin Mills, Secretly Group co-CEO Darius Van Arman and RT Industries’ Victor Zaraya.

The A2IM advisory board, meanwhile, is currently comprised of Omnian Music Group managing director Jane Abernethy, Mass Appeal managing director Jeff Clyburn, Italians Do It Better president Megan Louise, GoDigital/Cinq CEO Jason Peterson and AntiFragile founder Tom Sarig.
