Spotify has announced an update to its Premium Family plan that gives subscribers more options, including parental controls for explicit content, while managing their accounts on the streaming service. The new features launch Monday (Aug. 19) in Ireland and will roll out to all countries where the plan is offered this fall.

The parental controls upgrade, which Spotify says has been a long-requested feature, allows parents to filter explicit content on sub-accounts through the a password-protected setting on their plan’s master account. The master account holder can manage their family’s account settings in the Family Hub.

Another feature on Premium Family subscriptions is the Family Mix, a personalized playlist updated regularly with songs for the whole family to enjoy.

“We’re always looking for ways to improve the Spotify Premium experience, and the upgraded Premium Family plan brings new features to how families enjoy listening to music and podcasts they love,” Spotify’s chief premium business officer, Alex Norström, says. “At a time where parents are trying to reduce screen time for both themselves and their family, we’re creating more ways for families to bond over music together, while still celebrating individual tastes and giving parents more control if they want it.”

The Spotify Premium Family subscription plan, which offers up to six individual accounts for family members living together, is priced at $14.99 per month.

Spotify reports that the most listened to artists by Premium Family subscribers are Ariana Grande, Drake, Queen, Billie Eilish and  Khalid. The most streamed songs for Premium Family plan members include Bradley Cooper and Lady Gaga’s “Shallow,” Post Malone and Swae Lee’s “Into the Spider-Verse” and Bastille and Marshmello’s “Happier.”
